England Hockey
As a member of the Hockey England, the club is involved in exciting times for hockey. Hockey England is committed to making the game available to all in the country, and increasing our competitiveness at international level. Tackling the Future laid out a dynamic plan for moving hockey forward through a clear vision for development, with the aim of meeting the demands of all levels of the development continuum from foundation and participation through to performance and excellence.
The Hockey Club is also associated with the Sport England initiative, Active Sports. The objective of which is of improving sports club provision for young people. Supporting the club development process, thereby reinforcing club structures. This also shows the Hockey Club's commitment to developing our existing level and range of provision.
Worcester City Council
The club receives acknowledgement and support from Worcester City Council and is widely regarded as an excellent example of providing sports development from participation through to excellence. In addition, the club has members employed by the Council to provide a quality sport programme of coaching to Primary Schools, reaching over ten thousand young people.
Finances
The Hockey Club covers its annual running costs by way of annual subscriptions and match fees. Annual turnover is approximately £45,000. The Hockey Club currently has some reserves, built up largely over the years from donations. Sponsorship is sought to extend the Club's activities, coaching and training.

"The business sponsorship incentive scheme for grass roots sport"
Sportsmatch is the government's grass roots sports sponsorship incentive scheme. They are funded by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport through grant aid from Sport England and administered in England by the Institute of Sports Sponsorship.
Sportsmatch receive around £3.3 million of government funding per year and to date around £50 million has been invested into grass roots sport thanks to the Sportsmatch Scheme.
How it works
Sportsmatch can match £ for £ commercial business sponsorship for grass roots sporting event or activity. Sportsmatch acts as an incentive by offering to double the pot if money available from our sponsor in a £ for £ matching basis.
Sportsmatch funding can make sponsorship affordable; matched funding can also increase the size and scope of a sports club to promote the sponsor to a much wider audience making investment even more cost effective.
How much can they match?
Matching awards are available between £1,000 and £50,000. We can have a maximum of 3 sponsors per project each putting in a minimum of £1,000 and sponsorship can last between 1 and 3 years for any one project. Sponsorship can be in cash or in kind (in kind for sporting equipment only).

Worcester Hockey Club offers a wide range of promotional opportunities ranging from inclusion of your own leaflet in one of our mailings to members, up to a comprehensive major sponsorship package.

To give maximum promotional impact, these options can be packaged to individual company requirements. The sponsorship can include(s):
- The opportunity to promote your company on the Internet by way of a banner and a dedicated full page with links, (full page only available to £1000 + sponsors) on the Worcester Hockey Club web site www.worcesterhockey.co.uk. This very popular and busy website features all the club's up to date news, results and reports. [£200 +]
- Advertisement in Worcester Hockey Club Fixture Booklet, [£80 - £150]
- Advertisements in Worcester Hockey Club Women's National League Team's Match programme (all home games) [£80 - £150]

Major Sponsors
£2,000 - £10,000
A Major Sponsor, depending the level of sponsorship, will have the opportunity to have title branding on certain material e.g. "XYZ Ltd. - Worcester Hockey Club" and exclusivity in product category.
As well as this, a Major Sponsor's package could be arranged to include;
- Any or all of the options from the Standard Sponsor package (above).
- Letter Heads - Quality headed paper dedicated specifically for use during correspondence, including local sports clubs, businesses, volunteers, media, councilors, schools, parents/guardians, coaches, young people. Your logo could be depicted and incorporated into the layout.
- Clothing - clothing could be printed with your logo to be worn by players, officials, team managers and coaches.
- Awards - Numerous medals and trophies are awarded at the end of the season Awards Night to team members in categories such as; 'Top goal scorer', 'Player of the season', 'Most improved player' etc. Certain awards could have your company's name and logo incorporated.
NB. This is by no means a definitive package but does provide a flavour of the promotional opportunities available.
