Honours even in the ditch
much better performance for the M8s and one we really should have one.
A late morning call before the Worcester 8s lunchtime push back, meant we were required to let our goalie go and play elsewhere in the club. A quick call between myself and Azzie’s agent, in his absence, meant that he was drafted in as our last line of defence. He played his part well even saving a flick towards the end.
Azzie did not have too much to do for the majority of the time thanks to the efforts of Guy Unwin, Alfie Russell, Lewis Heppner, myself and when change was needed to respond to Redditch’s plan B of attack, Ryan Russell and when he was given a yellow … our plan C of Vince Smith.
0-1 A penetrating run and cross from Alex McDonald-Smith is finished off by Andrew Pritchard in a fine flowing move.
2-2 – Dom Stokes converts to short corner with a deft flick
3-2 – Dom Stoke saves us again
4-4 – Alex McDonald-Smith this time saves us with a goal of his own.
Lots of endeavour from all including those not mentioned already including Stee and Ben Gough. Hard to remember a game where we had as many shots on their goal and not scored. Really a much better performance for the M8s and one we really should have one.
My MOM would have to go to the Redditch goalie and my DOD to their forward who had been dropped by their 3s to their 4s as he could not play as a team player and then refused to be subbed off to a junior meaning they played with 12 on the pitch for at least two minutes – none of which was even noticed by the umpires,
