Men's 8 vs Old Sils 4

A depleted (mainly due to injuries) 8s travelled to Old Silhs to play their undefeated 4ths. Playing under the misty lights of a 4pm December night that poured down with rain, we politely asked their captain and umpires if we could play with a ball that was another colour than white due to its visibility. We were told no, as they had a player in their team who was colour blind. The umpires, as now expected on such visits to them, made it clear that they too were struggling to see the ball ... and even the players. A hard fought 5-2 loss from which I feel we can take many positives (other than the week pass I gifted them a goal with). A very good team and well spirited performance. If we play like this with the return of some of our injured players, we will get more victories in the second half of the season. Goals from George Chakko-George's "megs" of their keeper and a penalty flick from Jacob Chakko-George. Hoping the team recuperate over the Christmas break and have as much fun in the second half of the season.
