A super performance against 3 adult defenders, with lots of great hockey on show.

Pippins played their final friendly before league fixtures begin, against Lichfield who travelled to Worcester with 6 kids and 3 adults ! Thanks to Jacob and Harry Dorman who stepped in at last minute to play for them. Pippins were 15 strong (+1 Adult) so substitutions we pretty frantic throughout.

After the first 20 Minutes Pippins were dominant playing all the hockey in the Lichfield half. Jess Waddington and Fin Goodman bossed the centre of midfield allowing debutante Caitlin Davis, Zac Goodman and Chloe Mackellar freedom to cause havoc. Lichfield's 3 adults were ruthless in defence against Worcester's 'ankle biters' but despite several chances the score remained 0-0 at half time.

A shock start to the second half saw Lichfield go ahead, scoring a breakaway goal which all the Pippins agreed was George Pawson's fault ? Despite the setback the Worcester minions continued to play great hockey. Gracie Miller, Emma Baker and Alfie Russell operated a watertight defence alongside George Pawson who was trying his best too. Elsewhere the passing was often intricate and well executed. Arthur Quinn's powerful strike from the top of the D was denied by an equally strong save and then with just 10 minutes remaining Zac Goodman intercepted the ball on the attacking 23m line and he found Chloe Mackellar who had made a beautiful run behind the defensive giants to slot the ball home. A great goal and well deserved.

The game ended 1-1. MOM this week awarded to Grace Miller for a faultless defensive display. Harry and Jacob were by far the best players on the Lichfield team so we'll assume a moral victory
