Womens 1st XI v Uttoxeter

Despite the gloomy weather, Worcester started brightly, passing the ball well and creating opportunities. After much patient play, Worcester struck after a well worked corner was stopped on the line by a defenders body. The resulting flick was calmly put away by Clare Hayes. Worcester put Uttoxeter under pressure with good attacking play and were rewarded through a short corner, which was touched in by Helen Barnes. Worcester continued to put Uttoxeter under pressure and dealt well with any breaks that Uttoxeter made. Worcester made it 0-3 by half time thanks to a great piece of attacking play from the defence through to the forward, which was slotted away by Clare Hayes to complete her brace. In the second half, spaces opened on both sides, however it was Uttoxeter who found a way through to make the score 1-3. Despite both sides working hard in attack, neither could find another way through the opposing defence, and the score finished 1-3. Worcester look forward to continuing their run by heading to local rivals Stourport this coming Saturday.
