Worcester started the local derby brightly, playing good hockey and retaining more possession of the ball. Chances were created, however not converted, to begin with. A juggle around at the back, due to injury to captain Helen Barnes, did not upset Worcesters play, and shortly before the end of the first half, Worcester took the lead through a calm finish from Libby Wycherley, from a well worked short corner. Worcester started the second half as they finished the first half, putting Stouport under continued pressure and rattling their defence. Worcester doubled their lead through a good passage of play that was calmly put away around the keeper by Clare Hayes, with Jess Aps supporting on the far post. Worcester continued to try to play their game however Stourport lowered Worcesters to play their game, forced some mistakes and soon levelled the game at 2-2. Worcester were determined to hold on for a draw, having played so well for the majority of the game. Worcester look forward to extending their unbeaten streak against Solihull Blossomfield at home on Saturday.
