Back to winning ways

The match started off as a scrappy affair as both teams took a little while settle, however it was Worcester who settled the quicker of the two teams. With slick quick passing between players Worcester began to put pressure on the Boots defence and were unlucky not to get the final touch past the Boots keeper despite great efforts from the forwards and midfield. Worcesters defence soaked up the pressure and stopped any threatening attack by Boots. Worcester finally broke through the deadlock 15 minutes into the game when the ball was played out of midfield into Jo Walker who calmly took on a Boots defender and passed it to Beth Carter who hit a rocket of a shot past the keeper into the top left hand corner of the goal. Worcester continued their focus and patience at both ends of the pitch and doubled their lead when a pass by Sarah Baggs was deflected in off a Boots foot past their keeper. After half time Boots pressed and pushed much higher, making it more difficult for Worcester to play their game, however their patience and focus kept Boots at bay. Worcester continued to put Boots under pressure when they could push forward and extended their lead further when Jo Walker found herself in space and calmly put the ball in the back of the goal. A good team performance by all Worcester players.
