Worcester 2 v 10 Harbourne Worcester Mens 2nd XI suffered a humiliating league defeat away to in-form Harbourne on Saturday. In a tough first half, Worcester were very much still in the game, with Dom Sullivan equalising for Worcester after falling behind to a well worked goal. Despite the slight superiority of the hosts, Worcester continued to cause Harbourne problems with Matt Hooper, Chris Watling and Sam Wickett all coming close for Worcester to giving the visitors the lead. It was the Home side however that regained the lead making the score 2-1 right on the stroke of half time. With the match finely poised, Worcester Centre Back Ben Glass was shown a very harsh yellow card and the men in white were now down to 10 men, this allowed Harbourne to assert more pressure on Worcester and scored 2 goals in quick succession. This ultimately ended the game as a spectacle and despite the efforts of Man of the Match Rich Scott in goal the home team ran riot. A combination of poor defending, bizarre umpiring decisions, an own goal and some incredibly lack lustre performance sealed Worcester fate as Harbourne ran in 8 ruthless second half goals. Jeremy Drake managed to salvage some pride with fine solo effort 2 minutes from time.
