Worcester were well beaten by a strong Olton side, who dominated the game from the outset. Although the first half was goalless Oltons free flowing hockey created the better chances, but some excellent saves from James Hurley kept the scores level. At the other end Worcester did force a number of short corners but failed to take advantage of them. In the second half Worcester fought bravely but were undone in a ten minute spell that saw them concede three goals and lose sweeper Guy Lewis, who suffered a ball to the face from a short corner. The resulting penalty flick however was superbly saved by man of the match, James Hurley. In the last ten minutes Worcester threw everything forward but they too were denied by some good goalkeeping.
