This was a good performance from the fifths and a fair result for both sides. Worcester started well playing some lovely passing hockey and taking a deserved lead after ten minutes when Rory Simons fired home at close range. Cannock rallied and were soon level when they converted a short corner. Although Worcester went close they could not find a way past the Cannock keeper and went into half time on level terms. In the second half Worcester again came out the better side creating a number of chances until Henry Durie scored following a goal mouth scramble. Cannock once again rallied and pushed Worcester back into their own half, forcing James Hurley in the Worcester goal to make a number of good saves, until they finally equalised again from a short corner. The final ten minutes were tense and could have gone either way but resolute defending from both sides ensured that the spoils were shared.
