Lichfield 4th v Worcester 5th

Worcester 5th earned a valuable point away at Lichfield in a very hard fought game. Lichfield arguably had the better of the first half forcing Worcester onto the back foot for large periods, however, the Worcester defence was solid and limited any real chances for the home team. In the second half both teams felt they could win the game and the number of chances increased. Lichfield should have taken the lead when a defensive slip allowed a Lichfield forward a free shot at an open goal, however, he blasted the ball straight onto the post. Within 5 minutes however, Worcester capitalised on a Lichfield defensive error when Fraser McDougall fired home a lose ball, following a fantastic run to the bye line from Chris Wood. From this point on the game started to get increasingly physical and tempers began to fray. Lichfield eventually scrambled home an equaliser with 3 minutes left on the clock much to the delight of the home team, and although both teams pushed for a winner honours remained even, and probably rightly so!
