Worcester 5th 3 Barford Tigers 4th 2

The 5ths came back from a goal behind to win against a skilful Barford side. Although Worcester started well moving the ball around quickly, they soon lost their way and allowed Barford to dominate the first half, and take a 1-0 lead into the break following a well worked short corner. However, the second half belonged to Worcester as they re-grouped passed the ball quicker and started to move the ball around the flanks of the Barford defence. This soon paid dividends when Worcester won a short corner that was slammed home by Chris Wood. Within 5 minutes the home team took the lead when Chris Wood drove around the outside of the Barford defence and pulled the ball back from the bye line for his brother Matt to fire home. Full of confidence Worcester continued to attack and soon won another short corner. The first shot was saved but the loose ball was scrambled into the net by Adam Taylor to give the home side a 3-1 lead. With 10 minutes to go however, Barford worked their way back into the game pulling a goal back with a great solo effort. Although Worcester were once again on the back foot the defence held firm to grab all three points.
