A successful start to the season for the Potters with an excellent team performance away at Cirencester. It was hot work for the team in the warm sunny conditions but with two goals in each half they always looked comfortable. Right from the start the Worcester team pressed Cirencester with most of the play in the opposition half. As it was the first game of the season it naturally took time for the forward players to coordinate their play to best advantage, but they were still making the opposition goal-keeper work. At times the Potters over-complicated the play when best advantage would have been served by being more direct, but this did not end up costing the team after goals from Rees Bonham, Max Butterfield, Sophie Bray and Rory Simons pressed home Worcesters advantage. Cirencester came into the game more in the second half which at times meant the Potters defenders were stretched; but good communication and discipline between Milly Short, Ben Lawrence and Cara Nyamekye limited the opposition to only one shot on goal all match. A positive performance all round which bodes well for the season ahead.
