Potters out fighting

Worcester entertained Yardley in a South conference league match who were unable to bring a Goal keeper. The Potters showed much more determination in the early encounters. Good runs up the left wing from Jamie Williams and Sophie Bray. Yardley defended well at numerous short corners with the senior player playing kicking back. The defensive line up of Eloise Seale in goal, Dominic Hole, Liam Batchelor and Ben Lawrence swept up any efforts that Yardley produced. With Dominic Hole marking and tackling well. Issy Nott and Olivia Watts combined a number of attacks with Connor Winkworth and Jacob Tribe but could not find a way through. After half time Yardley kept possession and surged forward to beat the defence and scramble a goal on 4 minutes. However after some good passing and movement down the right Issy Nott took the ball into the circle and her shot went across the goal and was turned in by a Yardley defender only minutes later. The 2nd half showed the Potters gaining in confidence and thanks to Andy Hadley for shepherding the team and encouraging the players. A competitive game and fair result.
