Potters out fighting

Right from the start the Bromsgrove visitors put the Worcester Potters under pressure and we struggled to get our team play together with the result that Bromsgrove were 2 goals up from open play within 4 minutes. However through direction from their senior player Philly Roberts and despite the fact the Bromsgrove scored a 3rd on 14 minutes the Potters began to respond and it was very encouraging to see their performance improve. With a few positional changes the defensive line up of Charlotte Pawson, Liam Batchelor Tom Rhead and Mason Lloyd in goal held off the Bromsgrove attacks for the rest of the match. Before half time our midfield of Ned Dickinson , George Pawson and 10 year old Ottie Thomas created several attacking moves which culminated in 2 short corners which kept Bromsgrove on their guard. So 3-0 down at the break. After the team talk the Potters matched the efforts of Bromsgrove and all the Potters showed a lot of determination with our 3 front runners Phoebe March , Grace Mosesley and Azzaria Molla making much effort to produce a good team performance in the 2nd half. Justifiably after 26 mins a good move up the centre of the pitch by-passed the adult player and George Pawson took a reverse stick shot which deflected up into the net . The efforts of Ned Dickinson and Ottie Thomas were more than a match for the Bromsgrove side who deservedly won 3-1 .Much was learnt from this match and the Worcester youngsters deserve credit for the much improved play in the second half.
