Worcester Potters v Droitwich 2 December 2017 (away)

We started this match with the bare 11 players, including Teyah who had a bad cold but did not want to let the team down. Our opposition had a squad of 15 that included a number of players who looked 3 or 4 years older than most of our team. Droitwich started strongly from the whistle but never daunted, the Potters were 1-0 up within 5 minutes thanks to a deft tap in from Teyah following a strong counter-attacking move. The remainder of the first half followed a similar pattern with Droitwich forays into our half being firmly defended and fast counter-attacks leading to 2 more goals taken in style, both scored by Jack. In the second half, with Zac having replaced Teyah, we added another goal, this time a well worked move finished off by Jamie, and while Droitwich pulled one back and our team tired a little, we finished convincing winners. This was a great team effort - everyone worked really hard for one another - and our youngest player, Fin, was outstanding in the midfield. Special thanks go to Simon who turned out to play sweeper at the 11th hour and to Ange for getting Zac to Droitwich from his earlier match so that Teyah could get home to recuperate!
