1. Safeguarding

1. England Hockey has published two important documents in recent years:
• Safe D - Safeguarding the Hockey family. This publication covers in five chapters: Safeguarding Policy; Recognising Poor Practice and Abuse; Reporting Procedures. Useful contacts and a list of Good practice Guidance resources and templates are available on the Safe D section of the England Hockey website

Worcester Hockey Club is committed to and has signed up to this guidance, see attachment below

• RESPECT - Codes of Ethics and behaviour. This code exists to protect everyone within the game and outlines the behaviour expected from all people within the Hockey family. In all there is a Generic Code of Behaviour and 7 specific Codes of Behaviour covering Players; Young Players; Clubs, Associations, Leagues and Staff; Coaches, Managers, Teachers, Leaders, and Adult Helpers; Spectators and Parents; Umpires and Officials, Medical Practiced Health Professionals. All the EHB codes are also available to download on the England Hockey website

All the Club officers, coaches and captains have been made aware of both of these publications and copies can be made available from either of the Club Welfare officers. Furthermore everyone with an involvement with Worcester Hockey Club is encouraged, indeed expected, to familiarise themselves with the content of both documents.
