Worcester Hockey Club offer the opportunity to everyone under the age of 18 to come along and get involved in hockey, we are committed to developing junior players with many boys and girls progressing through the England Hockey Single System and some on to play at International level.
The junior coaching is led by Steve Williams (Junior Head Coach). Steve is assisted by a group of junior coaches and volunteers who provide invaluable support to the club.
Junior training sessions are held at Nunnery Wood Sports Complex on Sunday Mornings for U10 and below (girls and boys), as well as U11 to U14 (girls only). Our Junior Club Day to herald the new season will be held on Sunday 8/09/2019 at Nunnery Wood Astro Pitch. Regular training sessions then resume on the following Sunday (15/09/2019) at Nunnery Wood as follows:-
U10 and below (boys and girls) 9.15am - 10.45am
U11 to U14 (girls only) 10.30am - 12.00 noon
Training for U11 to U14 boys is held on Thursdays 6:30pm to 8:00pm at the astro pitches at the University of Worcester, St Johns. Training for the U11 to U14 boys will resume on commence on Thursday 5 September 2019.
New players are always welcome. If you are new to hockey and don’t have your own stick we will be able to loan you one for the session. For safety reasons we do insist that all children have suitable astro turf trainers, shin pads and a gum shield.
Junior players can attend senior training sessions from the age of 13, and on occasions younger players may also be invited to attend by the Junior Head Coach to progress their development.
