Worcester 4 v 1 Bridgnorth Worcester Mens Sencond XI got their season back on track with fine 4-1 victory against local rivals Bridgnorth on Saturday. After a tough few weeks, Worcester started the game with a fresh approach and took the game to their guests in frantic style. After dominating the opening exchanges, the hosts found themselves in front when Jacob Ford Thomson bravely deflected Gaz Bannisters pin point through ball high into the Bridgnorth goal. Barely two minutes had passed and Ford-Thomson bagged his second, this time Dom Sullivans searching run into the D and sympathetic pass allowed the Worcester hit man to casually tuck the ball away. With the wind in their sales and confidence oozing throughout the team, Worcester scored a deserved third goal after good play by James Neale and Jack Townsend allowed Jeremy Drake to work a tight angle and crash home for his 7th goal in as many games. As half time approached, Worcester refused to let up and wanted to secure the points as early as possible. Man of the match Tom Allen intercepted a cross deep in his own half and he drove quickly at the heart of the Bridgnorth Defence before selflessly laying the ball off to Matt Hooper, his shot was blocked but the in-form Andy West reacted the quickest to bag Worcesters fourth goal. Straight from the re-start, a rare defensive lapse allowed the visitors to pull a goal back but after an uneventful second half, Worcester easily held on for a well-earned and much needed victory
