Worcester started the season well with good possession as usual. Neither team created much in the way of chances until the 20th minute where Pete Young broke away at pace drawing two defenders with him. He drifted wide before cutting in behind them and shooting at the near post. The keeper dived and saved leaving a loose ball in the box which Nat Garfield reacted to quickest before firing across goal into the far corner. Worcester kept control of the game but Olton managed a similar breakaway late in the first half, a cross fired into the back post deflected well to draw things level.

The second half was dominated by Worcester who just couldn't make the chances count. Good attacking play from Rees Bonham and Cameron Palmer contributed well to the game, but Worcester saw two greens and a yellow throughout the second half which, while not opening much up for Olton, did disrupt the flow of attack.

A positive performance, and a draw against a decent team in this league should be considered a good start.
