The train carried on for the 6s as we beat a mixed Bromsgrove team 3-0. The game was played in fairly good spirits as we got on the front foot pretty quickly and took the game to Bromsgrove. The game was fairly even until Andy Griffin snatched at an open ball in the D to put us 1-0 up - I won’t mention the open goal he missed at the end of the game ?.
In the second half, Bromsgrove tried to hit back and the game opened up. Austin Shipley (playing from Bromsgrove as they brought 10 men) was very unlucky not to get on the scoresheet after having a goal disallowed but was rightly so. A Bromsgrove player was carded for talkback to umpire Brock Miller. Among all the madness, we started to get a grip on the game and managed to put two more goals away (believe Terry set up joe for a tap in and I “slipped” to Tom off a short missing Greg and he tucked one away). Final score Worcester 3-0 Bromsgrove.
All in all, a good fitness exercise and the good start to preseason continues for the 6s. We go again on Saturday vs the 7s as we look to seek revenge for our defeat a few weeks ago.
