One should not moan about the sunshine as I know cold wet Saturday's are coming, but this was a toss I needed to win - and did not. So we began the game staring into the sun, with BKH in their blue away shirts blending into the pitch. After a great opening 10 mins, very much against the run of play, BKH managed to get some players free (genuinely didn't see one of them) and some good passing and a mis-hit shot found the back of the net. More of the same followed. We kept hitting passes to their mid-fielders and they were fast on the break. A good blend of youth and wily old so-and-so's saw BKH score 2 more goals resulting in a 0-3 halftime score.
Second half and with the sun on our backs Worcester took command. Numerous chances came and went, and though BKH were always dangerous on the break we felt we could get back into the game. As the match wore on, some of the more experienced players on both sides became a bit more physical in the challenge and a couple of our guys were unceremoniously left on the floor once or twice. Chances and Short corners came and went and the game ended with the same 3-0 score as at the half.
Our first half performance was a bit under par, but in the second we did look better and enjoyed some good periods of possession. It was actually a good tough match and apart from the result was good fun at times.
MOTM Harry - fantastic stick skills and passing, with a mention for Nick Harriman
DOTD for the 3rd week running was me for losing the toss - though to be fair they called it so maybe I should let myself off this week?
