Fundraising, sponsorship and our new facilities!
You are probably all aware by now that we have secured the initial approval to proceed with our development plans, subject to successful planning approval; which is due later this year. You will also no doubt be aware that these plans are ambitious and although we have significant financial commitments already in place from our partners (Worcester City Council and the Royal Grammar School); we also need to raise in the region of £300,000 ourselves to contribute to the scheme; this will be matched by RGS.
Tom Waters has been asked to head up the fund raising subcommittee; whose responsibility will be to work with club members, partners, suppliers, and other organisations and individuals to raise the necessary funds. This is a wide ranging remit and might cover everything from small contributions from individuals or small events such as cake sales, BBQs, etc.; through larger donations from individuals and local organisations, to sponsorship, grants, donations etc. from public and private bodies; the committee will consider every possible option. Tom’s team will help drive, manage, and support our fundraising efforts but it is important to realise that fund raising is everyone’s responsibility, not just the committee members!
We are now appealing for club members who have a genuine long term commitment to support our project, to join this committee; with the ultimate aim of ensuring we have the financial resources to realise our dreams. It would be ideal if interested people have some of the suitable skills, knowledge, contacts and experience in raising the amount of money we need to find; but more importantly is a real desire to work to achieve our goal and to be fully and genuinely committed for at least the next 12 to 15 months.
If you are interested in joining this committee, then please contact Tom directly; either through Messenger, text or ring him on 07803 715174.
